Part 3
We need to look at people differently to help us identify and empathize with where they are in life.
The sheep represents people who are preoccupied with life.
The coin represents people who have been mishandled and neglected in life. One generation was careless with the generation that came after them.
The son represents people who just miscalculated.
We shouldn’t be afraid of, ignore, or criticize people that fall in any these categories.
We need to understand how people become preoccupied, careless, and miscalculated but more importantly we need to seek them out and show them Jesus.
God is obsessed with people so Christians should be sociologist.
If there are ppl out there that don’t recognize Jesus and they aren’t living their lives for Him then we (The Church) need to find out why.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world…
We need to so love the world too…by sowing love in the world.
You will not be effective in a world that you don’t love but we are also ineffective if we are too much “of the world” that we live in.
The Bible says that we are in the world but not of it but too often the Church has become of the world but not in it.
Matthew 5:13-14
We should not be absorbed by the world but we should absorb the world with the light of Christ.
If we try to use salt where it’s not needed it’s unpalatable.
No matter your background, education, or spiritual maturity we all have the ability to love people.
Romans 5:5 NKJV “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
The benefits of being a Christian is not for you to just hoard up and keep it to yourself.
The Question: What are we passionate about?
Some people define their Christianity by what they don’t do bc they don’t know what they should be doing.
The Christian life is not about you hiding and being scared to live so you won’t sin.
In order to reach the ppl we have to be intentional.
Matthew 4:19 NKJV “Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
We need to understand that not reaching the ppl, is not any option.
Matthew 28:19-20 MSG “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
Witnessing is not a gifting or a calling. It is an instruction.
We are the GPS system to reroute people to Jesus.
We need to live our normal lives on purpose to engage the world around you to bring change and transformation.
We would be amazed at how things in our personal lives would all work out when we get on mission
If we get on with what we are supposed to be doing we won’t have time for what we shouldn’t be doing.
