Healing School 2019 – Part 9
Roadblock #1 – God sends sickness upon people
Roadblock #2: “It may not be God’s will for me to be healed.”
Faith for healing always begins where the will of God is known.
You cannot have faith for something that you are not sure is the will of God for your life.
Your faith will never rise above that question mark in your thinking.
We have this mis belief that If I renew my mind to the Word of God in one area, it covers them all. Not true!
It is possible to have your mind renewed in one area of your life and not in others.
Many have renewed their minds that it is God’s will to save everyone but have not renewed their minds where the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is concerned. The same thing is true where healing is concerned.
We would never allow someone we are ministering salvation to pray a prayer such as, “Lord, if it is your will, please save me.”
(2 Peter 3:9 NKJV) The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Most of us have a good working knowledge of what Jesus went through to save us and so we would not fathom the idea that salvation may not be the will of God for someone.
Equally one can have their minds renewed to salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, yet be grossly ignorant of what the Bible has to say about God’s prosperity and blessing in our lives. Matter of fact, there are Christians who love Jesus with all of their hearts but will fight you for the right to remain poor and in lack. What a shame!
How do we become assured of the will of God in any area?
Romans 4:20-21 NKJV He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, (21) and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
Abraham became fully convinced or persuaded that God’s Word is true.
Romans 8:35-39 NKJV Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written: “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER.” (37) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (38) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38 AMPC For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
- You must stay with the Word of God until you press all the way through the doubt and become fully convinced.
- Meditate in the Word see yourself as healed and not sick.
Roadblock #3: Paul’s Thorn in the Flesh
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV (7) And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. (8) Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. (9) And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
- The devil will never send a thorn to keep someone from being lifted up in pride but rather he is going to doing everything he can to make sure that you get lifted up in pride.
- Jesus was being lifted up and exalted through Paul because of the abundance of revelations.
- The thorn is a reference from the Old Testament referring to an external source sent to harass God’s people. (Numbers 33:55; Joshua 23:13)
Numbers 33:55 NKJV But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.
Joshua 23:12-13 NKJV Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations–these that remain among you–and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you, (13) know for certain that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the LORD your God has given you.
- Infirmities in the New Testament are never translated sickness and disease but is always a weakness.
- God’s grace was sufficient – God’s ability to overcome every evil tendency fully
James 4:6 AMPC But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it). [Pro 3:34]
