Dream Again – Part 1

DREAM AGAIN – Part 1

(Proverbs 29:18 MSG) If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.

Three Things We Need to Know About Dreams
  • Dreams are the language of God.

(Acts 2:17 NIV) “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

  • Dreams are the target of your faith.

(Hebrews 11:1 NKJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  • Dreams have a habit of coming true.

(Luke 1:37 NLT) For nothing is impossible with God. “

What Stops Us from Dreaming Big Dreams?
  • A wrong view of life.

(Proverbs 4:25-27 NLT) Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

  • A wrong view of self.

(Ephesians 2:10 NLT)  For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

  •  A wrong view of God.

(Jeremiah 32:17 NIV) “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

What Does a God Honoring Dream Look Like?
  1. A God honoring dream will seem risky.

(Hebrews 11:6 NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

  1. A God honoring dream will require God’s involvement.

(Ephesians 3:20 AMP) Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—

  1. A God honoring dream will change lives.

(Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG) It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
